Ashraf Abdelkafy
Dr. Ashraf Abdelkafy currently works as a Professor and Consultant of Orthopedic Surgery in Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt. He is specialized in knee arthroscopy and arthroscopic related knee surgery. Dr. Abdelkafy obtained his Basic knee arthroscopy training in Vienna, Austria 2004/2005, where he spent a year working under the supervision of Prim. Univ. Doz Dr. Franz Landsiedl, Department no. 1, Speising Orthopedic Hospital, Vienna, Austria. Following that, in 2006, he embarked on an AO Trauma Fellowship in Tuebingen, Germany in BG Unfallklinik Tuebingen for 8 weeks with Prof. Dr. Dankward Hoentzsch. After that, in 2008, he got an ESSKA Knee Fellowship in Bruderholz Spital, Basel, Switzerland with Prof. Niklaus Friederich. In 2009 he got an AGA knee Arthroscopy Fellowship in University of Pittsburgh, USA with Prof. Freddie Fu. In 2012, Dr. Abdelkafy completed the ISAKOS Patellofemoral Travelling Fellowship visiting 8 centers in USA and Europe. Finally, in 2013, he completed an ESSKA-EKA Knee Replacement Fellowship in Southampton University Hospital, UK with Mr. Philip Chapman-Sheath. Dr. Abdelkafy published many scientific papers in top orthopaedic journals and participated in writing several chapters in different knee surgery books. Dr. Abdelkafy is affiliated to several reputable national and international orthopedic associations.
